Get liberated!
Aah, to feel the wind on your neck as you leave the hairdressers!
WHY GO SHORT?
It's liberating. As a guy, I can't really explain this, but virtually every woman I've known who's chopped off her hair speaks positively of the experience.
It will cut down on your getting ready time and you will save money on haircare products
Your beautiful facial features are better accentuated with short hair styles
You will attract a better class of men :-) Lechers are less likely to pester a woman with short hair, but in general, decent guys will act more naturally towards you and appreciate the artistry of your style.
Think of all the comments (mainly positive) you will get from your workmates etc. after taking the plunge and going for the chop.
It's sensual. Imagine your hair as short as in the picture below and then running your hands gently up your neck!
Kate Moss' hairstyle was recently voted the best of the year by experts after she chopped it short. If it's good enough for her...
If you don't like it, it will always grow back
It's brave. You only live once. You've taken the first step by checking out this site, so go on! Pick a style, get down the hairdresser and tell them Mr Topcrops sent you!

GOING SHORT
Some women are brave and will go all the way from long locks to cute crop in one sitting. However, if you're still a little apprehensive it's a good idea maybe to go short in stages. Try something like a mildly inverted bob first. To me a good short style is one that is cut tight into the neck - so you can still have fairly long hair at the front while experiencing the shortness at the back. This is far from a bland compromise - the contrast between front and back is very sexy. You can then decide if you want to keep it that way or go short all over.
WHAT STYLE?
The important thing is to establish the right style for you. Just as there's nothing cuter than a good short hair style, there's nothing worse than a short hairstyle that doesn't work. Though every face is different, here is a general guide:
For heart shaped faces - make sure there's quite a bit of volume round the jawline to counteract the tapering of the jaw. Avoid styles that pull the hair away from the face.
For diamond shaped faces - keep hair near the chin soft and shorter to mid-length and don't go TOO short!
For oval faces - lucky you! You can wear almost any hairstyle.
For round faces - use soft lines and have plenty of swing in the style to bring out your features. Avoid blunt, straight lines or too much hair on the face.
For square faces - Have a layered shape, and avoid adding height at the crown, which draws too much attention to the chin.
For pear shaped faces - Go short, though avoid volume at the jaw and wearing hair away from the face.
Having said this, the best thing to do is consult a reputable hairdresser.

#Would you dare go Mega short?
Many visitors to this site may have surfed around short hair sites and consequently found a lot of sites celebrating women who have their hair clippered very short or even shaved off completely. Indeed, I have linked to some such sites. Do I encourage such extreme short cuts? - the answer is an emphatic YES - though approached with caution. Many women look very feminine and sexy with little or no head hair and it's great to see this recognised and the stigmas about female baldness being slowly removed. Just don't do a 'Britney' on a whim! I would just say to any lady considering doing this to give it consideration and not do it on a whim - remember - the shorter the cut the more attention it draws to any imperfections you may have (it also highlights your finer features of course!) and the more attention it will attract from other people. Also, if you're going really close, consider the shape of your head. Are there any bumps or past injuries to your scalp that may become exposed? Otherwise, I'm all for women with buzzed hair. Again, if you're nervous of the clippers, you could just try them out with our old friend the inverted bob with a buzzed nape. An extremely sexy but "socially acceptable" cut, especially if you have a slim neck! I haven't previously put up pictures of buzzed and shaved styles as it's difficult finding such material without just plagiarising other sites. I hope however, to take some pictures of my own and include them on my next update.
